China Mobile completes tender for broadband equipment

Interfax China reports that China Mobile has completed a tender for optical broadband equipment in preparation for its long-awaited deployment of a fixed broadband network. Citing a report published by web portal Sina, ZTE Corp, Huawei Technologies, Alcatel Shanghai Bell, FiberHome Telecommunication Technologies Co and Ericsson won the bid to provide Gigabit Capable Passive Optical Network (GPON) equipment.
