Sha Yuejia, executive director and vice president of China Mobile Ltd<0941><CHL> may visit Taiwan and meet the island's telecom equipment vendors at the end of March, the Commercial Times reported on Wednesday, citing an unnamed source.
The source said the group led by Sha will hold meetings with more than 10 Taiwan-based telecom equipment manufacturers including MediaTek Inc, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co and HTC Co.
China Mobile is expected to buy NT$100 billion worth of telecom equipment from Taiwan-based vendors, the source said.
In addition, other telecom companies, which include Huawei Technologies Co, ZTE Corp<000063><0763>, and Datang Telecom Technology Co Ltd<600198>, may also send purchase delegation to Taiwan next month, according to the report.
