China Telecom Co Ltd<0728><CHA>, the nation's largest fixed-line operator, said on Monday that it added 3.05 million CDMA mobile phone users last month, after it reported 3.1 million newly-subscribed users in December, sources reported.

By comparison, China Mobile<0941><CHL>, the country's largest telecom operator, saw its 3G subscribers reach 3.90 million last month.

The number of the carrier's local access line subscribers fell by 1.9 million to 186.66 million by the end of last month.

The company last month saw its broadband subscriber number increase by 790,000 to 54.25 million.
