Tinet, formerly the carrier arm of Tiscali Group, and China Telecom Europe have signed a contract for International Ethernet Private Line service. This service provides layer 2 carrier Ethernet platform to customers in the metropolitan cities across the world. Through this partnership, the service expands to more than 220+ PoPs in Mainland China, over 70 PoPs in Europe and more than fifteen global PoPs in other regions. China Telecom customers will be able to connect their offices in Europe and the rest of world through standard Ethernet interface on a point-to-point or point-to-multipoint International Ethernet connectivity with speeds ranging up to 1000 metres. CTExcelink International Ethernet Private Line is a managed bandwidth service based on SDH/Sonet transport service MSTP with a high level of flexibility and security for LAN extension, WAN connection and high traffic volume applications. Tinet's Ethernet Extension service delivers connectivity down to the end user buildings through Ethernet NNIs with local access providers around the globe. It is a wholesale service aimed at supplying last mile connectivity into international destinations to those regional service providers that have a need to fulfil the global networking requirements of their enterprise customers.
