Lenovo Lephone Android smartphone revealed

Lenovo announced its first Google Android-based smartphone, the Lephone, during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Lephone is based on Google's Android operating system. It adopts the touch screen concept and integrates various communications methods, including phone, SMS, email, and instant messaging. This new product is expected to be launched in the Chinese mainland market around May 17, 2010, and the price is currently undecided.

3.7-inch 480×800-pixel resolution display

Entirely touchscreen — no buttons

1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor

3.5mm headset jack

3G, Wi-Fi, A-GPS

3.0-megapixel video-capable camera

“OPhone” customized Google Android OS

Proprietary 9-pin dock connector for external keyboard

Lenovo will be engaged in the development of more advanced and complete mobile Internet terminal products to meet the most popular network application demands.
