Earlier, China Mobile's Terminal Management located in two departments, Department of Marketing and Department of Terminal Management. This new "terminal department" will manage teams of people dispersed about terminals across the whole company.

An industry analyst said: "First of all, it shows that China Mobile put the terminal products development to a very importent position. Secondly, an independent department is more flexible for terminal management.
