The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's has published 125 recommended communications industry standards has been released in China.
On January 7, the MIIT's China Telecommunications Technology Labs (CTTL) undertook a special project to draft a unified standard for handset chargers and data ports, to be published in the coming days.
Effective January 1, 2010, the 125 standards were formulated under the organization of China Communications Standards Association. Of the total, 109 are new standards and 16 are amended standards.
These standards are an extension of recent moves within MIIT to better manage various areas it controls. Last year MIIT pushed forward its "Management Regulations for the Security and Oversight of Communications Networks", aiming to enhance security of public communications networks and the Internet. And MIIT published a unified standard for earphone interfaces of mobile phones, and the standard was officially implemented from September 1, 2009.
