Insider: Motorola Preps TD 4G Network for '09 Launch

Unnamed insiders report that Motorola (NYSE:MOT) is preparing to launch a TD-LTE network for trial commercial use in Beijing by the end of 2009, Tencent reported December 16. According to the insider, Motorola is still selecting locations for the tests among Beijing suburbs, and the company plans to operate trial networks in three major Chinese cities.
Motorola announced November 17 that it has completed and passed TD-LTE key functionalities testing by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
