Vodafone launches BlackBerry services

Updated:2010/3/1 14:48

Vodafone Qatar will launch its BlackBerry services today for the first 1,000 customers. The first 1,000 customers will be able to use the service for free until May 31.

Customers interested in using Vodafone’s BlackBerry service for consumers should register at www.vodafone.com.qa/blackberry no later than March 7. Interested parties must have a currently active Freedom account with Vodafone, as well as their own BlackBerry smartphone.

Once all the registrations have been completed, Vodafone will randomly select 1,000 individuals who will be able to use Vodafone Qatar’s BlackBerry service free of charge until May 31 and enjoy BlackBerry services which include managing up to 10 e-mail accounts on their mobile phone, browsing the Internet and using Instant Messenger.

The users can opt out of the exclusive launch offer at any time by calling Vodafone Customer Care at 111, as well as post their comments on our Facebook Group. When the launch promotion reaches its end on May 31, the first 1,000 will have the option of continuing to use Vodafone Qatar’s BlackBerry service for consumers at a cost of QR125 monthly.

Michael Portz, Vodafone CMO, said Vodafone customers have been eagerly waiting for the Vodafone BlackBerry services and they are “pleased to take the first step toward making that a reality.
