This year has seen half of the top ten best selling mobile phones in the US market turn out to be either LG or Samsung. CNN Money reported that according to a survey by the Nielsen Company, an American marketing and advertising research company, four LG mobile phones and one Samsung mobile phone land on the list of the top ten best selling mobile phones of this year.

LG Electronics' VX9100 (with a 2.3 percent market share), Voyager (1.7 percent), LGVX9700 (1.3 percent), and LG Vu (1.3 percent) finished 3rd, 4th, 8th, and 9th respectively. With a combined market share of 6.4 percent, LG Electronics comes out on top among the mobile phone makers included in the top ten list. Samsung SPH-M540, with a 1.5 percent market share, came in sixth in the US market. On the other hand, Apple's iPhone 3G, the one which recorded the highest US market share in this year, is recorded with a 4.0 percent market share.
