Updated:2010/1/27 16:32
ZTE Corp launched 3G modems supporting mass market mobile TV in Brazil enabling viewers to view up to 13 DTV channels including sports, news and entertainment, Brazil’s largest mobile operator, Vivo and Siana Mobile Silicon are partnering ZTE in this initiative. The data card makes use of Siano’s SMS1130 multi-standard receiver chip, which supports the Brazilian Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting - Terrestrial (ISDB-T) DTV format. The card is compatible with all standard notebooks, netbooks, and desktop PCs. “We have been supporting mobile digital TV since the beginning with the introduction of the most innovative devices on the market,” said Hilton Mendes, Terminal Development Director at Vivo. “Thanks to our strong partnerships with ZTE and Siano, we have surprised the market with a new concept in mobile broadband and mobile TV, bringing groundbreaking innovation in both areas together in one unique device. Our customers can now be connected to the largest 3G Network to watch clear, crisp video from their netbooks, laptops and computers.” “ZTE is delighted to have launched this advanced mobile TV product in Brazil, together with our partners Vivo and Siano, to bring Vivo subscribers a superior mobile TV viewing experience,” said Radio Wei Zheng, Terminal Director at ZTE Brazil. “We look forward to working with our partners to continue to realize and grow the promise of mass-market mobile TV in Brazil and the rest of South America.” “With our partners Vivo and ZTE, we are pioneers of the mobile TV market in South America,” added Alon Ironi, CEO of Siano. “The roll-out of ISDB-T in Brazil is about to set the pace for mobile TV adoption throughout South America. Scoring this goal in Brazil prior to the World Cup is a strong testament to Brazil’s strength in growing emerging mobile TV markets, and we look forward to passing on our learnings to other growth markets such as China and South America.” source:telecomtiger ,Verizon to Make 3G Look Slow with First 4G Phone in 2011 (2010-3-12) ,ZTE Realizes the World's First 14.7 Mbps EV-DO Rev.B Data Call (2010-3-12) ,SFR selects Alcatel-Lucent for major 2G/3G network expansion and for LTE mobile broadband technology (2010-3-12) ,ZTE, Vodafone Germany to Jointly Build R&D Lab in Dusseldorf (2010-3-12) ,Anadigics launches PAs for 4G LTE and 3G HSPA+ (2010-3-11) ,T-Mobile launching 21Mbps HSPA+ 3G on March 14 (2010-3-11) ,China market: 3G handsets sale to top 35-43 million units in 2010 (2010-3-11) ,TIM Brasil targets 60% pop coverage for 3G by 2012 (2010-3-11) ,Vodafone wants higher 3G levies on Tata Tele, RCOM (2010-3-11) ,WiMAX will Surpass 3G-embedded PCs this year (2010-3-10) ,ZTE, Vodafone Jointly Launch R&D Lab In Germany (2010-3-10) ,3G Buildouts Push up Mobile Network Investment (2010-3-10) ,Accelerating 3G construction to generate direct consumption of 450 bln yuan annu (2010-3-9) ,ZTE prepping four Android phones (2010-3-9) ,Chinese Carriers Lowering 3G Service Packages (2010-3-5) ,Orange launches Kingdom's first 3G network (2010-3-5) ,MediaTek sees 3G chip shipments for China rising (2010-3-4) ,Ericsson charts course to keep competition at bay (2010-3-4) ,China Mobile accelerating 3G investments (2010-3-4) ,3G spectrum auctions: CVC bats for foreign firms; tells DoT to ensure a level playing field (2010-3-4) |
