Chinese equipment maker Huawei Technologies has won two mobile network equipment contracts from French cellcos SFR and Bouygues Telecom. The deals were reportedly concluded at the end of last year, Les Echos reports. Until now SFR and Bouygues have opted to use Nokia Siemens Network (NSN) and Ericsson, respectively, to supply their 3G radio infrastructure. Price is cited by the paper as a principal reason for the shift although Huawei said it was not undercutting rivals but more, valuing its technology at the right price.
