China Unicom<600050><0762><CHU>, the country's second-largest telecom operator, announced on Tuesday that it has launched a bilingual daily newspaper which will allow its mobile users to get the latest information and watch video clips on the World Expo.
The newspaper was jointly launched by video sharing website Ku6.com and the Expo reporting alliance formed by over 50 media.
Reportedly, the Chinese carrier has invested RMB 700 million so far to build communications network for the World Expo 2010. A total of 13 base stations and 210 in-door coverage will be built for the Expo.
Mobile users will also be able to watch Expo events on their handsets at any place any time, said Li Shanyou, found and president of Ku6.com.
