DoT adds Singtel to its list of foreign firms accused of licence norm violations

Updated:2010/1/25 13:34

The DoT has accused Singtel of illegally offering ILD services in India without actually holding a licence to offer such services. It has also accused Singtel’s local partners Bhari Airtel and Tata Communications of having an illegal agreement with Singtel.

Singtel however has refuted this accusation and said that it does not provides any telecom services in India nor has acted as an independent telecom service provider at any point in time.

DoT earlier in the month had similarly accused AT&T, BT, Equant and Verizon of violating licence norms and FDI violations.
