The UPA government is yet to come up with a clear-cut 3G policy framework after more than 4 years. But Union Communications Minister, A Raja sees entry of 4G services some time next year.

“We are foreseeing a technical revolution in 4G' and it might take another year for 4G to be introduced,” said the minister.

When asked if potential bidders for 3G spectrum may actually skip the process to bid for future 4G technology, A Raja said that he does not sees such a scenario happening. He added that 4G will not cannibalize 3G services and both the technologies can co-exist.

On number portability the Minister said that it would be implemented by March.
